I don't know which one my writing falls under, but it keeps me going and keeps me sane for the time being.

I do think I've been unsettling bosses and halting relationships lately (and mom never did approve of much of anything) so maybe I'm doing something right.

i mean, i get the point, but there are expensive medical situations, being able to support small artists, debt, helping more people find & realize your message... if these states don't depend on stuff, then more stuff isn't necessarily a problem.

200k is a bit low, but as your wealth increases there are daily experiential changes that happen. For instance I have always taken walks twice a day; when I was poor this either involved navigating swarms of drug addicts or camping on remote undeveloped land, where taking a dump requires digging a hole deeper than flies will go. Once I had enough wealth to support a house plus monthly fees, there are private gardens with 4 seasons of flowers to walk through surronded by guards, cameras, and gates to keep out the drug addicts. Lots of other stuff like this, but you need enough wealth both to purchase the property and cover fees.

In general I agree, but just because noticeable changes in lifestyle require closer to a 100x increase in wealth than a 10x. Someone with 10k has advantages that someone with 100 doesnt, but those advantages aren't that different at 100k. But at 1m it does become qualitatively different, and I've heard thats true again at 100m - but almost no one is in that category.

But if you have to work 40 hours/week, wouldn’t 200 be better than 30, all other things equal? If you don’t get caught up in materialism and invest the difference, then you can pretty quickly get to place where less than 30 is doable, even with a family, giving you more time to work on your state :)

Once a person has enough wealth you dont need to work, most people run into a serious crisis. Often bad enough they lose all the assets. For instance in some less bad cases people watch TV all day and get dimensia. Humans aren't meant to laze around so you end up working even though you dont need to, just to keep mind healthy. Kind of like going to the gym.
